Hi! This is an early draft of Miple, an app that keeps track of turns and remembers your board game sessions.
It isn't the real app yet: these are drawn screens linked together. I want to find out whether it's clear how to use it. There's nothing you can do wrong: if you get stuck, it's the app that needs fixing.
Simple version
You're Marco, you already have an account and a group of friends. No unfinished games: the most common situation.
Try to do these things, in order
- Start a game of any board game with 3 friends, with a time limit for each turn.
- Have the app pick at random who goes first, then pair the buttons: each player presses their own.
- During the game, switch to the view for whoever is holding the phone.
- The game is over: save who won.
- See who wins most often in your group.
Full version
You're using the app without an account, a friend has already opened a table, and there's an unfinished game. There's more on the screen.
Try to do these things, in order
- Join the table your friend opened.
- Resume the unfinished game.
- Find the games played last week.
- Invite a friend to your group.
- Sign up without losing the games you've already played.
Visual mockup
How Miple could look: five screens in the new style. Here only the look matters, not the features. Does it feel like a game night? Is everything easy to read?
Look at the mockupGood to know
- Taps on buttons and rows work: they take you to the next screen.
- Text fields and switches are only drawn; they don't save anything.
- Names, games and times are examples.
- To go back to the start, use the Home tab at the bottom or Restart in the top bar.
When you're done, write me a couple of lines: where you got stuck, what wasn't clear, what you expected to find and didn't. Thanks! nicola@valcasara.it
